A Broken Heart

You were taken away from me and I just don't understand why,
God took a piece of me and didn't even let me say goodbye
A best friend, a companion, the most loyal dog I ever had
You were always there for me, especially when I was sad
A precious little soul that was so easy for me to see
I really don't understand why God took you from me
You gave me unconditional love, a love so innocent and pure
If only I could have done, just a little bit more
I am so sorry I wasn't with you, when it was your time to leave
I wish I had done things differently, I sit here and grieve.
The sparkle in your eyes may be gone
but the memories of your life will always live on
In our hearts you have filled a special place
The happiness and joy you brought to us we could never erase
I hope you know Moo Moo how much you mean to me
If only I would have know I promise I would have done things differently
I would have stayed with you all through the night
I would have never EVER went on that flight
If I had known that day would be the end
I would have stayed with you my forever friend
One day I know I will see you again
That will be the day my broken heart with mend.
